Random quote: Many people think that just because I have different beliefs than them that I'm utterly stupid. I have a belief, that I am a dragon spiritually, (And I won't get into detail about that here.) which essentially makes me an Otherkin. I, of course, hold that Otherkinism, the belief that one is not human spiritually, is a perfectly valid spiritual belief. Called it, way back on page one:

Dave Hawkins:

Patchy:

Dave, the first thing to establish is...why are you asking?

Is it more like, "at the end of 46 pages of exhaustive data, and skulls, and diagrams, I plan to scoff it all off, declare it all wrong (or misguided, or claim that Evo scientists "just fear the idea of God" ) and bail out, knowing full well God made Adam in Creation Week, and that's exactly where man came from"...

Or is it more like, "I'm genuinely interested in how evolutionary theory accounts for the sequential "stepping stones" that culminate in modern Homo, and I'm asking the question in good faith in order to actually learn something?"

Yes. Honest injun. I'm not planning any funny business. But I really don't want 46 pages. I just want a couple or three lines.

Dave, shouldn't you have been more honest, way back in the beginning of this thread, and indeed, throughout it?

What we ended up with was your "intuition" that chimps and gorillas are more closely related than chimps and humans, and so that's where it stays.

Your intuition is more reliable than comparing actual DNA samples. Amazing.

You should probably look into charging big bucks as a star witness at murder trials, because right now they're just stumbling around with DNA evidence that no one "really understands," whereas your "intuition" can step in and get it right every time.

You never answered, or attempted to answer, how DNA can reliably establish paternity (which you accept) but yet can't reliably establish OTHER relationships. Ones that clash with your cherished beliefs, not to put too fine a point on it.

You were pointed to a book whose purpose is to answer in detail the question you posed. I ask again: do you plan to read it?

After all--you're the guy who actively "challenges his point of view by reading other explanations all the time," right? You said you were....

I'm stealing this expresion from somebody I read quite recently, but Patchy did "call" the predictable Dave-havior:

He gives every signal that he's throwing the door wide to inquiry.

But, when you knock and "enter," all you end up looking at is a brick wall.

It's like the opposite of the Truman Show
